Notes: One of the really useful exercises and artist can practice is in drawing quickly from life, still or otherwise. Its a really good way to work on obtaining accurate proportions, depth, and shading to your work. I've taken a couple day trips into the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto recently for the sole purpose of getting some sketching practice. I explore the museum collection entirely differently when I'm looking for interesting things to practice sketching rather than just interesting artifacts to see. I also got to be part of the exhibit! Many people and especially children on school trips wanted to know what I was doing, one girl even asked me for tips on one of her own museum drawings that wasn't working.
